Kodolab uses Vercel Web Analytics to count how many people visit and which lessons they open. It sets no cookies and does not identify you or follow you to any other site.
What is recorded for a page view: the page, the site that linked you here, your country, and your browser and device type. Your IP address is used to work out the country and is not stored. There is no advertising network, no third-party tracker, and nothing is sold or shared.
The AI features use Google's Gemini API. This includes the App Builder and any Question Box. We log questions and prompts that you type, anonymously, to improve the quality of responses and the overall experience.
To keep a conversation together, the question box stores one random id in your browser. It is not a cookie, it is not shared with anyone, and it says nothing about you; clearing your site data clears it. This allows you to try our features without making an account.
Accounts
Teachers and builders can sign in with Google. We store the name, email address and profile photo Google gives us, and nothing else from your Google account. We never see your password. The email is used to recognise you when you sign in again and to link a teacher invite to you; we do not send mail to it.
Signing in sets one cookie, which holds a random session token. It is used only to keep you signed in, expires after 30 days, and is removed when you sign out. Your browser also keeps your name and photo so the page can show them without asking the server.
Students do not need an account. A teacher gives each student a class code and a label of the teacher's choosing, which can be a first name or a seat number. That label is the only thing we hold about a student, and the teacher chose it.
A teacher may also hand out one class link for a lesson. A browser that opens it reports back to that class: which lesson it opened, how long the tab was on screen, how far it got, and any quiz or survey answers, filed under the same random id as the question box. A gear on the lesson lets you add a name or initials for your teacher, or leave the class; neither is required. Only that teacher sees any of this, and signing out or clearing site data removes the class from your browser.
The apps you build, and the prompts that built them, are stored so you can come back to them. A teacher can see the apps and prompts of the students in their classes. Deleting an app removes it and all of its versions. To delete your account and everything with it, ask through the feedback form below.
